For those who follow God on Substack, you know that many MAGAs are begging Trump to spare them from the personal pain his reign of chaos has brought to them personally.

Saying things like “please don’t fire me from my federal job — I voted for you three times.” Or “please don’t deport my wife“. Or for God’s sake, take down that blasphemous Gaza video…

There are those on the left, who say we shouldn’t gloat. Hide our schadenfreude, acknowledge the pain people have been in and empathize with these former Trumpers.

Fuck that (at least for now).

For Democrats, 2025 needs to be the year of “We Told You So.”

We need to remind every voter or potential voter, we said Trump would be a disaster.

We said he was a fascist and dictator — he said he is a King, and his White House shared a fake Time Magazine cover with Trump wearing a crown. He is also ignoring Congress, cutting Congress’ budget and ignoring federal court orders to restore funding.

We said he was Putin’s Puppet and would start repeating Russian propaganda. Trump has already called Zelenskyy a dictator and blamed Ukraine for being invaded by Russia. Trump is worse than the appeaser in chief, and his proposed deal with Russia looks more like the treaty Hitler and Stalin signed in 1939 to split up Poland and the Baltic States than Chamberlain’s weakness at Munich.

We said he doesn’t care about ordinary Americans and will only feather the nest of his billionaire buddies. His first budget cuts Medicaid by $880 billion and gives a $4.5 trillion tax cut to the wealthiest. Then add the few “pennies” that Elon Musk is cutting through DOGE1 as what looks like a vengeance tour against all civil servants.

We said his second administration would be worst than the first. Trump has done everything he can to create chaos in every part of government from medical research to foreign affairs. He even managed to put the federal parks service in chaos so we can’t even get an appointment to get as far away from this bullshit by camping in a National Park this summer.

We said he would destroy the FBI and prosecute his enemies. He is already firing and forcing out anyone who investigated him, moving to impeach judges who don’t rule his way and nominated Kash Patel who published his enemies list in a book.

We said he would fuck up the economy. Trump’s tariffs and chaos have already tanked the stock market and driven consumer confidence off a cliff. It looks like he is doing everything he can to stoke inflation — not fight it. Musk firing all these federal workers is going to wreak havoc on unemployment and create a negative spiral in the job market.

We said if another pandemic came he would fuck it up as bad as he did Covid-19. Here we are with the first measles death in the United States in a decade. He is bringing back the diseases we already beat. Can’t wait for mumps, whooping cough and chicken pox to stage their own comebacks. (I wish I was kidding).

We need to rub their noses in this shit, so every time they try to smell fresh air they remember that we were right.

  • Trump and his minions were lying about Project 2025.
  • They were lying about inflation.
  • They lied about taking taxes off Social Security, Overtime and Tips.

They lied about almost every fucking thing they said was wrong and every promise they made to “fix it.”

2026 is the year for empathy

We can reveal in our self-righteous until Christmas 2025. In 2026, we have got to get busy building converts. To not only list the many issues and dangers of Trump and his fascists, but to offer a better plan for everybody’s future. Focus not only on fixing the damage Trump and the Republicans have done, but show people a better way.

2026 is the election for the next Congress, and the next chance to restore balance to our Democracy.

We can improve healthcare and social security and reduce income inequality with a fairer tax system. We can practically eliminate child poverty with earned income credits.

We can break up the monopolies that dominate the corporate landscape and create a truly competitive economy that benefits far more than the .01 percent counting their billions.

We can break the political backs of these oligarchs who have taken over our politics with less than 1 percent of their wealth by doling out a few hundred million in political spending by returning to restricting large contributions from corporations, political pacs and individuals.

There’s a long list of relatively “simple” changes that will make everyone’s life better. Hell even the rich do well when we tax the rich. The “rich” did not disappear between 1940 and 1980 when we had extremely high tax rates on millionaires and corporations — in fact their numbers grew.

These things are not impossible. We have done them before.

in 2026 it will be time to do them again. But this year, 2025, is the year to point out every flaw, every blemish, every misstep by Trump and his cronies, so people do not forget what a terrible idea it was to elect a lying, philandering, felon to the presidency.
